Marriage is a state of mind and heart

Thank you for printing another wonderful and inspiring article written by my very favorite writer, D. Louise Brown!! I devour everything she writes! Her words are so “down to earth,” written from her heart, so very uplifting! I am referring to her article published on June 26 about the Graves’ 75th wedding anniversary! Most unusual to be sure. I know! Because I am the wife in her story. I am writing this to add a comment to it.

True happiness does not equate to the size of the house or the number of bathrooms. It definitely is not based on things! It is a state of mind and heart, along with a positive attitude! Every marriage will have problems; we just deal with them and move on. Tell yourself “this too shall pass.” It always does. The Bible states it many times—“And it came to pass.” But you will never find the phrase “And it came to stay.”

I represent a group of loyal friends and readers of your publication. Keep up the good work!
